“Pray, hope, and don’t worry”

– St. Padre Pio –

Moms

Lord, please help me to raise my child(ren) with You in mind. Help me to teach them the right values and to raise them up to love You, to seek Your heart and to embark on the path that You have laid before them. God, please help me along the path, even as I face difficult patches and navigate uncharted waters. Thank you for the gift of motherhood — and for Your love. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Expectant Mothers

Lord, I thank You for this baby and I give my pregnancy to You, praying that throughout the whole time You will be there to comfort and encourage and strengthen each member of the family. I pray that You would place Your hand of blessing on this little human being that is being formed in my womb… may he or she grow up to know You and may they become a mighty person of God. Thank You for all my children, which have become such a blessing to me – into Your hand I commit myself, my husband, my family and this precious little addition to our home – for which I praise You. Amen.

Trying to Become a Mother

Heavenly Father, You know my deep desire for a child. A little one to love and to hold, to care for, to cherish. Grant that my body may conceive and give birth to a beautiful, healthy baby in Your holy image. Guide me in all my choices so that this conception, my pregnancy and my baby’s birth are in line with Your will. Heavenly Father and Holy Mother, hear this prayer of my heart, mind and spirit. Amen.

Grandmothers

Mighty Savior, I pray that as a grandmother, You help me to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. I pray that I remain reverent in the way that I live. Motive me, oh Lord, to take action! Show me how to best share what I have learned through the years to guide the younger members of my family, and help the younger generations. Burn a fire in my heart for imparting wisdom on others and helping their yoke be easy, until my last breath. Help me be an example to those around me so that they too can be encouraged to live reverently for You in a life of service to others. Amen.

For Grandchildren – Precious Father, thank You for the crowns of my life – my grandchildren. Thank You for blessing me with a family that has given me so much joy in life. I love You with all of my heart, soul and mind and pray that You continue to keep the crowns in our life. I pray that You continue to bless each generation in my family like You have blessed me. Amen.

Struggling Mothers

Heavenly Father, I come to you today, humble and exhausted, and ask that you carry my burdens. I pray that you lift my weary spirit and fill me with your love and peace so that I may be restored and renewed in body and mind. Lord, pour your heavenly nourishment into my soul and give me the energy to sustain me in my role as a mother. Amen.

Prayer for All Women

Heavenly Father, thank you that you are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Our desire is to be women of gratitude and thanksgiving for the countless ways you have blessed us throughout our lives. Welcome us into your presence today as we praise and glorify your name.

Vocations for Women

God, in Baptism you called me by name and made me a member of your people, the Church. Help all your people to know their vocation in life, and to respond by living a life of holiness. For your greater glory and for the service of your people, raise up dedicated and generous leaders who will serve as sisters. Send your Spirit to guide and strengthen me that I may serve your people following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name I offer this prayer. Amen.

Friends

Almighty and eternal God, have mercy on your servants, our friends. Keep them continually under your protection, and direct them according to your gracious favor in the way of eternal salvation. May they desire whatever pleases you, and with all their strength strive to do it. As they trust in your mercy, O Lord, graciously assist them with your heavenly help, that they may always diligently serve you, and be separated from you by no temptations; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Single Women

God, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank you for creating me in your image and blessing me with the holy spirit, in which I have become a new creation. God, please remove the parts of me that aren’t godly, righteous and honoring to you. Show me the areas that I can still improve in to become the godly woman that you have called me to be. Teach me how to become wise, make good decisions, and live according to your will. Amen.

Sisters

Lord, you have given me a sister who is my biggest support. I ask, Lord, that you protect her heart from those who would come against her. I ask that you bless her to be kind and intelligent. I ask that you give her strength to stand against those that would try to hurt her by leading her down darker paths. Lord, I ask that you give her a bigger heart for you, making her more sensitive to your voice and discerning in her decisions. I also ask, Lord, that you bless the two of us together. I ask that you allow us to get along more often. I ask that you build up our relationship and help us avoid the arguments that tear so many siblings apart. Lord, I ask that you give me kinder words to say to her. I ask that you give me more patience to deal with her, and give her more patience with me. Lord, I ask that you allow us to work through our differences in ways that draw us closer together. Amen.

Single Men

Heavenly Lord, I am so blessed to be your child and I praise and thank You for always being there as my guard and guide, my defence and my defender. Thank You that I can turn to You no matter what happens, and even when I am completely alone, Thank You that You are my ever present help in times of trouble. Lord, I have also proved over and over again that when I seek to do things in my own strength I inevitably fail and fall and am slowly learning that without You I can do nothing, and yet You have promised that I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me. Thank You that in all things You are my sufficiency and my strength, and I pray that in all things I will find my wisdom and strength in You. Thank You, Lord, that You are always there for me and that You have promised never to fail not forsake me. Thank You in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Brothers

Lord, today I am asking you to bless my brother. He is so close to my heart, and I want only the best for him. I ask, Lord, that you work in his life to make him a better man of God. Bless every step he takes so that he can be a light unto others. Guide him in the right direction when he is faced with making the right choice or the wrong one. Give him the friends and family members that will point him toward you and what you want for his life, and give him the discerning mind to know who is giving him Your advice. Lord, I know that my brother and I don’t always get along. Actually, we can fight like no two other people. But I ask that you take these disagreements and turn them toward something that draws us closer together. I ask that we not just argue, but that we make up and become closer than we were before. I also ask you to put a greater amount of patience on my heart for the things he does that normally set me off. I also ask that you give him more patience in dealing with me and the things I do to irritate him. I want us to grow older with happy memories of one another. Amen.

Merciful Father of all men, save me from all bodily harm, if it be Thy will, but above all, help me to be loyal and true, respectful and honorable, obedient and valiant. Prayers for Virtue

Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Patience

God of wisdom, I call upon You and know that You will answer me and tell me the great and unsearchable things that I do not know. I thank You for divine understanding that reveals to me the things that I do not understand. Thank You for Jesus, and the joy and peace that floods the hearts of all who have believed in Him, the rock of their Salvation. Eternity is too short to praise and magnify Your glorious name for all Your goodness and love towards me, and to all who are called by Your name, for in You is the fullness of joy. Help me to share this joy of knowing Jesus with all those who You place in my path, and I pray that throughout the world there may be many sinners today who are saved by grace through faith in the shed blood of Christ Jesus, so that they too may experience the joy which is freely available to all who believe in the gospel of grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Tender Jesus, so meek, so mild, teach us to be like You in all our ways. Teach us kindness, gentleness, generosity, and to be giving, forgiving, loving and caring. Teach us to follow in Your humble footsteps. Guide us to the place You want us to be, take control. Mold and shape us into the brilliant beings we were always destined to become. Amen.

Thank You, Lord, for opening my ears to Your words, my eyes to Your truths and my heart to Your message. Thank You for allowing me to understand what truly awaits the ones who choose not to come. Thank You for the ones who sought me out to share the glorious news of eternal life through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Father forgive us for being selfish with Your message of hope. Depression

Dear Lord, I come to You today to ask for help. You are my everything. Lord, I need rest. I give You my worry. Take it, Lord. I accept Your peace, love, and understanding. Help me to turn to You and not to myself. Help me to stop doing and start trusting. Help me to wait on Your answers, because I know that they are good. Give me wisdom, hope, and peace. Thank you, Lord, for Your patience and grace. I love You, and I know You love me so much more than I could ever imagine. Amen.

Anxiety

Oh Lord, let me hear you. My soul is weary. Worry, fear, and doubt surround me, on every side. Yet your sweet mercy cannot be held back from those that cry out to you, hear my cry.
