Lead Me Home

Home is where everything begins and where we ultimately return to at the end of the day, literally and metaphorically. This year’s theme, "Lead Me Home" is a celebration of community, faith and the abundant blessings we have in our lives. Home is where we set our hearts and lives on God at the beginning and end of every day. It serves to refocus us on what is important in life and to guide us on the journey God has envisioned for us.

"Lead Me Home" certainly has many different understandings that go into it:

My Church is My Home

Strong, vibrant parishes and churches are the foundation of an entire community. The good works of its members and the bonds of family that are created there truly make a difference in the world. The Church should be a place of welcome and comfort for all who seek it out. It should be "Home".

Our Faith Will Lead Us Home

Throughout life, Jesus is a constant companion on our journey through life. He's a GPS of sorts, someone that guides us through the twists and turns of life with a clear, reassuring presence to our ultimate destination: eternal life with him. God wants to show us the way "Home."

Help the Homeless Find a Home

As incredibly blessed as we are, we sometimes forget that others do not enjoy the advantages we have. It is important to step back and to share what we have with others. Homes for Haitians is an effort to help build a community for Haitian refugees who are the poorest of the poor and to give them the tools to begin to rebuild their lives. 6 months ago, Haiti was the center of the world’s attention. Yet today, monumental challenges still remain. Join us in helping our brothers and sisters find a place to call "Home." See the Mission:Possible project.

Come Home, Come Back to the Church

Sometimes, no matter where we are going, we take a wrong turn or get sidetracked along the way. Our faith is no different. What is important is that we get back on the road and continue along the journey. FEST 2010 is asking God to show us the each of us the way "Home," where we set our hearts and lives on God.
